A senior Russian official has warned that Moscow could intervene to help Russian-speaking residents in eastern Ukraine, if Ukraine launches an all-out attack on separatists there, the BBC writes.
The separatist rebels backed by Russia and Ukrainian troops have crashed east of the country. Russia has also established troops on the border with Ukraine.
The official, Dmitry Kozak, said Russian forces could intervene to protect its citizens.

The United States and Germany have both expressed concerns about increasing tensions.
