Peter Shala, arrested several weeks ago, has been transferred to the detention facility of Specialised Chambers in The Hague after the same indictment has been confirmed.

On March 16th, 2021, Belgium's authorities on a request for co-operation in the implementation of the warrants and the command for transfer issued by Kosovo's Specialised Chambers have arrested Peter Shala in Belgium.

Pre-emptive Procedure Judge Nikola Giyu has confirmed the indictment against Shala on June 12, 2020.

The confirmed and edited act has already been made public, until for security reasons the Judge of Pre-practice Procedure ordered that the indictment be made public with editing.

In the confirmed indictment, Shala is charged with individual criminal responsibility in various forms of war crimes as arbitrary bans, cruel treatment, torture and unlawful murder.

The crimes Peter Shala is charged with were committed approximately between May 17th 1999 and June 5, 1999, against persons held in the Metali Fabric in Kukes (Albania), allegedly used by the Kosovo Liberation Army.
