The Kosovo Medical Oda is preparing indictments against the Health Ministry for failing to pay additionals in salaries for all health workers, as promised. This has shown that there are about 400 health workers who worked during the pandemic but have not received additions.

The Health Ministry is expected to be indicted by the Kosovo Medical Oda due to the failure to pay additions to health workers who are engaged during the pandemic.

This Ode has shown that there are about 400 health workers who have brought their signatures for the indictment, because they are not paid additional for the work they have done, despite the decision made on the part of the Government of Kosovo.

The chairman of the Oda of Doctors, Pleatat Sejdiu, has told Express that they wrote to the Ministry of Health about their request, and that they are preparing indictments against this ministry.

It's a group of doctors, both of Caritasão's project and specialists who worked during the pandemic time that didn't get extras. We are preparing the indictment against the ministry for defaulting additions for COVID-19, as no doctor from these additions is excluded from the government's decision. Much of the specialists, about 400 with individual signatures, with facts they have brought, authorized Oda to proceed through the court for the implementation of this law. We have written to the ministry some paperwork to respect the government's” decision, he said.

Sejdiu has said he is awaiting an answer from the Ministry of Health, and that if their request is not realised, they will prosecute the indictment.

We wrote to the Ministry of Health and requested that this be institutionalally regulated. We're waiting for an answer. I have received information that the minister's cabinet has ordered this to be considered. If the ministry implements that decision, we will cease the indictment, if our request is not prosecuted, we will prosecute the indictment in the courts within two weeks”, he has said.

Sejdiu has indicated that they demand that health workers receive additionals that have not been given since the day the Government's decision was made about them.

He has said that since the budget has been approved, the Health Ministry will have a very difficult time paying these additions, so according to him, the best decision is to go through legal procedures.

The “will be very difficult for this facility to pay, because a budget has been approved. I think the only legitimate way of MSH is to go through legal procedures and they have a legal basis for paying”, he stressed.

In terms of additional payments to all health workers, and preparing the indictment by the Medical House, they have not been responded by the Ministry of Health.

We remember that on August 10th last year, former Health Minister Armend Zemaj had indicated that by the end of the pandemic, health workers will be paid extras of up to 300 euros a month, given the categories made according to the direct risk of the Devid-19 virus. The request, which found the support and understanding of the prime minister.
