US President Joe Biden has invited his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, to a “meeting in a third location”. The invitation came during a telephone conversation between the two heads of state.
“President Biden reaffirmed his intention to build a stable and predictable relationship with Russia in line with US interests and proposed a summit in a third country in the coming months to discuss the full range of issues facing the United States and Russia,”, the White House said in a statement Tuesday.
The White House reports that during a call taking place at a time of tensions set up by Russia-Ukraine, Putin and Biden “discussed a number of regional and global issues”.
It also comes after Joe Biden strongly criticised the Kremlin's policy, naming Russian President Vladimir Putin as a murderer.
