The head of the Islamic Community in Kosovo (BIK), Vedat Sahiti, said they respect measures to prevent the spread of Covdi-19 set by the government. He also stressed that more than 10 people are allowed in the mosque.
The Kosovo government, the Ministry of Health, respectively, has adopted new measures for further preventing the spread of Coronavirus, in the decision are not included in mosques. But on Friday, police fined Rogana village imam, as more than 10 people were pardoned within the mosque.
“As regards the measures the Government of Kosovo has taken we have been in constant contact with them and we have coordinated them for measures related to religious ceremonies. So we're fine with them. Even on the matter of religious ceremonies, we have stopped even before the Government itself receives a series of activities within our mosques: teaching faith, other religious activity, religious manifestations, even for big nights. In addition, we have made the decision to suspend the teaching of faith on the daily basis held in all mosques in order to respect the measures taken and preserve public health and protect people's lives”, Sahiti added.
Sahiti said they respect any government decision, but for closing the mosques the decision is made by the Islamic Community.
According to him, more than ten people are allowed to pray at Kosovo mosques because they occupy more of the faithful.
“We respect the government's decision because the closure of the mosque should take over the Islamic Community of Kosovo since it is owner of mosques. And we unlike last year that we've had a tough year where we've made a decision to close all the mosques this year has not been made such a decision. So to a high degree, all the measures we've taken from believers are being respected and respected. We have recommended that the elderly be forgiven at home, since prayer at the mosque is not a duty other than tassel. I don't know the circumstances in which that decision was made to fine the imam in this case, but in all the other mosques have been open and the House of Jujima is forgiven and we have had no trouble except these two cases. More than ten people have been allowed to pray in mosques and glass spaces are large and occupying greater numbers of believers, but always respecting measures”, he said of Online Economy.
