Roberta Jacobson, special envoy of President Joe Biden for border affairs who has seen a significant increase in the number of migrants trying to enter the US, resigned after only 100 days of work, the White House reported.
Jacobson, a former US ambassador to Mexico and a highly respected career diplomat, said in an interview that she had always intended to serve for 100 days and that she thinks she can leave after the Biden administration formed teams to work on the migration issue, the ATS reported.
Vice President Kamala Harris was recently appointed by Biden to oversee diplomacy with places like Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras.
“It was never my intention to return to government”, Jacobson told” Los Angeles Times”
She withdrew on May 5th 2018, partly because of the dispute with then President Donald Trump.
