The murder by the police of the 20-year-old relative-old American in Minneapolis seems to have been an accident that occurred because a policeman used firearm instead of an electroscor device during a clash, the city police chief said on Monday.
“Based on what I saw, in the reaction and concern expressed immediately by officers, was an accidental shooting that resulted in Mr. Wright”' tragic death, said the chief of police at the Brooklyn Centre, Tim Gannon.
Sunday's shooting led to the death of an American near Downe Wright during a car search at the Brooklyn Centre of Minnesota, not far from where the trial was under way for former white policeman Derek Chauvin, charged with killing African George Floyd.
US President Joe Biden called on Monday that protests concerning the murder of the nearly 20-year-old American in Minnesota be peaceful. He added that in regard to the incident, a full “investigation” is necessary, writes A2.
“We need to restore confidence and ensure accountability so that no one is above the law. It's really tragic what happened, but I think we should wait and see what the investigation will show”, Biden said.
