Ambassador Bertonelj stressed that during the upcoming EU presidency, starting in July, one of Slovenia's priorities will be the Western Balkans and European Union enlargement, and that Slovenia will support the Republic of Kosovo in its Euro-Atlantic integration goals.

Prime Minister Kurti thanked the ambassador, praising Slovenia's continued engagement and support. He stressed that Slovenia, apart from a friendly country, is also Kosovo's strategic partner. Speaking of the European integration process, the prime minister praised the fact that Slovenia will lead with the EU presidency and welcome the will for Slovenia's commitment to visa liberalisation for Kosovo and the country's membership in international organisations.

According to a Government communique, commitment to deepening economic, political and developmental co-operation between Kosovo and Slovenia is two-way, said at the end of the meeting.
