The US State Department has issued a communiqué to the media in which it speaks of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia. It mentions that the process must end with mutual recognition, until a message is delivered even about the Washington Agreement signed by Avdullah Hoti as Kosovo's prime minister.

The US State Department has confirmed that they will continue working for Kosovo and Serbia to fulfil the pledges made in Washington for the agreement signed during President Donald Trump's time.

“We will work with Serbia and Kosovo to fulfil Washington's pledges in support of the goal of full normalisation”, the US State Department communique said.

There have been many discussions in Kosovo about the Washington Agreement. Even the leader of the Vetevendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, had declared that if he returned to Government, he would not continue implementing such an agreement.

“We have no obligation to pledge the illegal prime minister of Kosovo when we return to office. Its signature under non-contained and non-transparent texts is against the will of the people, democratic order and violates Kosovo's constitution and laws. They will not be ratified in our Parliament. Mediators should refrain from fostering further divisions between Kosovo and Serbia. Only the well - prepared principled dialogue leads to fair and stable agreements”, Albin Kurti wrote on Twitter.

That attitude of Kurt had also prompted Richard Greene, who had said that Albin Kurti is anti-American.
