Ferizaj Mayor Agim Aliu has talked about today's Kosovo Police action, where 12 people ended up in handcuffs, including eight municipal officials. He said today's police action in this city is among the most serious for stopping forest degradation.
This is the most serious action in the two decades that have taken place in governance not only in Ferizaj but also in other municipalities for forest degradation. This action has to do with degradation of forests and mountains of Ferizaj's territory. This action has been taken after several preliminary actions. We've taken some measures thinking that they're stopping but that were unsuccessful”, Ali said, on the “Fropial” show, in T7.
Aliu further said it is up to the Court and Prosecutorship to decide on the criminal act they committed.
“Of course, the arrest of these eight municipal officials has been made as a result of what has been mishandled by official duty. This remains for the prosecutor and court to decide on the basis of evidence that has seized”, he said.
