Albanian State Election Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi said voter turnout in the elections according to CEC data is at the 48.2 per cent level.
However, to learn exactly how many citizens have voted will have to be expected to hand over material bases to polling stations.
“As far as participation as we have clarified, turnout according to data submitted by the CEC is at 48.2 per cent. The official outcome of the turnout will be after we get all the information from polling stations”.
The fact that even though we are four hours behind the polls and there is still no final result, Celibashi argued that the CEC has over the years reported participation based on polls it conducts at polling stations. The total number of participants, Celibashi, said it would not be given today.
“The result of turnout in terms of the total number of voters who have participated, The CEC cannot deliver today. The official result of voter turnout is the one that emerges after the results appear. In this 20 years of reporting on turnout is based on polls by the CEC, information providing polling stations at different times”, Celibashi said.
However, Celibashi acknowledged that not all polling stations have made the task of providing information for the number of participants.
“The figure you read is the figure that shows participation in these elections, based on a methodology that has been applied in several dozen elections in Albania. The results officially come after they hand over the election materials”, Celibashi said.
The state chief commissioner said the vote count has begun in Pustec, while adding that the handover of electoral materials in polling places is in the end. The process of transporting electoral materials has had no problems, according to Celibashi.
As for the counting process, Celibashi said he has no reason to stop.
There is no reason for this process to end, as there are all measures to exercise their duty and have no obstacle whatsoever. Unless there will be obstacles to subjective type”. / T V CLAN
