The Socialist Party has resulted in the winner in the municipality of Saranda, part of Vlora district, with 52.51 % of the vote. The second force in this municipality has emerged the Democratic Party with 33.89%.
The vote counting process has been closed differently than usual, with a handshake and citizenship hug by SP and DP candidates Anila Denaj and Ina Joupa.
Ms. Danaj, currently acting Finance Minister, is fourth on the list of Socialists, while Ina Zhupa ranks second on the democratic list for Vlora County.
The two candidates' hug has been accompanied by applause by activists present at the counting centre.
