According to their announcement, air quality is acceptable today in most Kosovo cities
While poor quality air is seen only in the town of Gjilan, the quality of air in Pristina is considered average.
The Hydromeorology Institute of Kosovo (IHMK) makes monitoring air quality across the territory of the Republic of Kosovo through the State Network for Air Quality Monitoring.
This network is made up of 12 automatic fixed stations and an automatic mobile station. The distribution of stations and selection of monitoring locations has become consistent with the 2008/50/ EU for fresh air in Europe and local laws.
Based on the above-mentioned criteria, stations have been distributed to 9 (nine) municipalities in the Republic of Kosovo: Pristina, Obilic, Drenas, Mitrovica, Peja, Prizren, Shtrepca (Brezovica), Hani of Elez and Gjilan.
