The Agency for Accreditation expects by June to return to ECQA

Agency Director Naim Gashi has said that on the basis of the dynamic plan, the agency's affairs will be completed by June, while it is expected the Law for the Agency will be adopted soon, as it is one of the main criteria that must be met.

The Kosovo Agency for Accreditation, in October last year, has prepared a dynamic plan that it has submitted to the Ministry of Education, where all steps to be taken to meet the ECQA criteria are provided.

Agency Director Naim Gashi has told Radio Kosovo, that not all jobs for Kosovo's return to the ECQA and ECAR belong to the Agency of Discension. He said that according to the dynamic plan, the agency's works end by the end of June.

Our “works that are recommended, according to the dynamic plan, will be completed by the end of June. The most difficult components have been thematic analysis, which we are applying with the VUS Kosovo. We have had other criteria, which we have met in co-operation with projects that Austrian ADA finances. ”

The Law for Accreditation Agency also enters the standards, said Gashi, who hopes soon that this law will be processed and adopted, as it is one of the main recommendations of the ECQA.

There are certain criteria that do not depend on AKA. It is financial and institutional independence that should be done through the Law. This is the competence belonging to the Kosovo Ministry, Government and Assembly. In the past government we have prepared a draft of the Law. There was a team of 19 people where I was one of them. We have prepared a draft that is in the Ministry of Education and now it is up to the minister to decide to proceed further. ”

In the draft of this Law, it is envisioned that the Agency of Accreditation has institutional and financial independence, as ERA 2 and ENQA demands in the suggestions it sends to the Agency. But, Gashi stressed that to apply to the ECQA, law enforcement should also begin.

Besides adopting the Law, we before applying to the ENQA should also begin to implement that law. We need to harvest his results and go with an app at ENQA with concrete results. We are waiting and hoping the law will be one of the top priorities of the Ministry and Government. ”

One of the criteria for applying for re-membership in the ENQA is the deployment of the Agency to an facility.

For this, Gashi indicated that they have an agreement with the Ministry of Education, where the Agency will be deployed to a new modern facility near the Palace of Justice, which is expected to be finalised by the end of this year.
