International Work Day A May, Kosovo workers are finding them in poor condition.
The chairman of the Union of Independent Trade Unions of Kosovo, Avni Aydin, in a proposal for Radio Kosovo, says the main problems of workers are the failure to implement the labour law, poor working conditions and low minimum wage.
Lack of employment contracts, disrespecting them, long-term work, low wages and inadequate job safety are the main problems facing thousands of workers around the country daily. That workers face these problems every day and for years, the chairman of the Independent Union of Kosovo, Avni Aydin, who says Kosovo workers 1 May, is finding them with numerous violations of their rights.
May Day employees are being found discriminated against. There is still no positive step towards the realisation of workers' rights, job security, but even health insurance, even though BSPK has committed to the maximum of having even a positive step to be taken for the benefit of workers by raising the minimum wage, or respecting collective agreement”, he said.
Those employed in the private sector are the most discriminated against, Aydin points out. According to him, working women are more discriminated against and happen to leave work when employers realise they are pregnant. For BSPK leader, the rise of the minimum wage is more than necessary.
“As far as the minimum wage is concerned, the current prime minister has promised this to be 250 euros. I believe that this must be realised, by the end of the year, even though we have demanded that on the basis of the living standard the minimum wage be 350 euros”, Aydin said
On May 1st, it has been marked since 1866, and this manifestation is closely linked to the bloody protests of thousands of Chicago factory workers in America who sought more rights. On behalf of this date, B The SPK, today, at 1: 00 p.m., will hold a conference on media to present the problems that workers and union demands face this year.
