American President George W. Bush for the independence of Kosovo has been commemorated through an installation in the capital on the 30th anniversary of the restoration of diplomatic relations between Albania and the United States of America.
“Eough is Enough” is a public art work by artist Alban Muja, born from President George Bush's statement during his visit to Tirana in 2007: “The time has come, as soon as possible, to say “That's enough!” (Aside from it enough!), Kosovo is independent!”, delivering a clear message to all international politics, but also recalling once again the related fates of Kosovo and Albania.
Designed as a sculpture in iron that, like a bridge, connects the two banks of the Lana River in one of the capital's most urban areas, this is the first of its kind for artist Muja.
The work, composed of the formulating letters of the thong word ʹEnough is Endough, is about 16 feet [17.5 m] long, and each letter is six feet [1.8 m] high.
The topics of memory, the Kosovo war and material representation of pain are the ongoing topics of the artistic research of Alban Muja. “Eough is Enough” is a continuation of the discurs raising the muja in his work, putting the public in the face of major issues of war, immigration and separation, but also the importance of humanistic values, as collective aid, the human condition for man.
On March 15, 1991, Albania restored diplomatic relations with the US. 100 days later US Secretary of State James Baker visited Tirana, where I suspended you a reception of meaningful expression of respect and alliance with the US, which Secretary Baker defined: “We are with you, you are with us”. /Euronews/
