In the spring of 2013, Hashim Thaci, who held the prime minister's post, had organised a meeting with Kosovo Liberation Army veterans (UÇK) in one of Gjilan city restaurants.

But not everything had gone according to former Prime Minister Thaci's plan at this meeting.

Naser Arifi, a close man of the president's postist lawyer Vjosa Osmani-Sandriou, had tried to stop Thaci's meeting with Gjilan veterans, deliberately committing a legal violation, writes Insander newspaper.

Arifi, who is suspected of currently exercising the post of presidential bodyguard in office, had made a false announcement in the Kosovo Police, that a explosive tool was being established in the restaurant where the former prime minister's meeting with veterans was held.

Osman's close man had known that no explosive means had been deployed in that restaurant, as this was confirmed by the Court.

In the indictment against Arifi, who owns the Inseyder newspaper, it is said he had bought a phone card with which he called the police.

After he had done the job, Arifi had pulled the sym-card out of the phone and thrown it into the trash. He had done this to hide his false announcement.

“... in a token of dissatisfaction with the treatment of KLA veterans and martyrs' families, without thinking that it will cause any unlawful consequences, bought a sim lpko mobile phone card and 19:01 minutes, called the 911 police number and informed them that at the restaurant “Luxor” has a explosive device that has then stopped the line and released the sim lD and dumped it at”, says the indictment against the nearby Ottoman defense.

The charge stated that Arifi had claimed to have gone to the restaurant to see if his call had an impact.

The same “has later stated that with Mercedes brand vehicle, it went near the Luxor restaurant to see if this call had any effect and it realized that the gathering had continued”, it is said in the indictment.

With this, Arifi had committed a criminal offence, “forging or false reporting”, with the Constitutional Court in Gjilan, following a trial process, had imposed fine sentences in many of the 300 euros.

Insider has contacted Arifi to ask what has prompted him to do such a work and how he has been employed in the presidency after being convicted of committing a criminal offence.

For the case that you asked me, I can say that this case is too far away for years and I don't remember what it was like, I know it's been a misunderstanding, but it's been a misunderstanding, but it's been solved by the competent organs at the time of”, Arifi said about Insider.

While, from the incumbent's office, they have not answered Iseder's questions about how Arifi was employed and did they know he committed a criminal offense for which he was sentenced by the Court.

Naser Arifi has held the position of LDK Sub-Secretary in Dobercan, while in 2019 he had been selected delegates for the central assembly of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK).

As he has now joined the Vjosa Osman initiative “Gux”, with Arifi's case reportedly being followed by the President's post leader Vjosa Osmani.
