In an answer from the Vatican Orthodox Office, the Congregation of Doctrine and Faith responded to the idea of whether the church had the power to bestow the blessing for the unions of the same sex.
The decree says the answer was “Negative”, writes Independent, translates Periscope.
The two-page explanation published in seven languages and approved by Pope Francisescu says that the “church does not, and cannot, have the power to bless the union of people of the same sex”.
Explaining the verdict further, the Vatican has said the decree was not meant to be “the form of unfair discrimination” and that there were positive “element” in the relationship between the gays, “that needed “validated and precious”. /Periscope
