But there are places that are abundant but do not want to be used. This is the case of Ukraine, perhaps the country where public opinion is the most opposed to the vaccine campaign.
The country has received about 500,000 Astra Zeneca vaccines, and another amount from China's Sinovac, but only 23 thousand people have been vaccinated so far, and the trend does not seem to change for the moment.
According to a survey of these days, about 60% of the population refuses to be vaccinated, while that figure was not exceeding 40% a month ago.
In the suburbs, distrust is even greater. An Associated Press report shows the case of Selydo town, 700 miles [700 km] from Kiev, where only 5% of doctors themselves accepted the vaccine, forcing the staff from the capital to inject themselves from the waste.
What, though, are the reasons for such disbelief? For one thing, allegations of corruption. Doubts are strong that the quality of vaccines is not good, as well as their preservation, especially in the case of the Chinese vaccine.
According to a survey of these days, about 60% of the population refuses to be vaccinated, and some politicians have fanned distrust on their charges.
Meanwhile, the balance increases day. The country of 41 million has registered about 1.4 million infected, while the victims have exceeded 28 thousand. /A2 CNN
