Turkey arrests 203 soldiers over Gyleni

Turkish security forces Tuesday arrested 203 soldiers across the country in several operations. They are suspected of having links to the organisation of Fttullah Gylen, which the Turkish government accuses of organising the failed stamp of 2016. Arrest operations were conducted in the country's 53 provinces, as well as in the Turkish part of Cyprus. The chief prosecutor's office in Izmir issued warrants for 150 suspects, of whom 123 are soldiers in office.
According to this office, among the wanted persons there are lieutenants, majors, colonels and sergeants. They are accused of contacting the secret imams of the Gylen organisation, writes Anadolu.
About 40 suspects are part of the ground forces, about 100 parts of the air force, six by sea forces, four by gendarmerie and 38 graduates from military schools.
In another operation in Ankara's capital, the warrants were issued for 19 suspects. The chief prosecutor's office, these persons are charged with the same job as those arrested by authorities in Izmir.
In violent riots that occurred during the failed stamp in July 2016, 251 people were killed, and 2,734 were injured.
