Lumir Abdixhiku is currently the chosen delegates to lead the Democratic League of Kosovo.
After achieving victory in the LDK's domestic elections, Lumir Abdixhiku stressed that LDK's path will be challenging, but that it will work for many democratic processes, such as today's.
Lumri Abdixhiku declared that the LDK stands on time with ideas initiated by Ibrahim Rugova and ideas cultivated by the two leading leaders.
Lumir Abdixhik's full speech:
I thank my two counterCandids, Mr. Haziri and Mr. Mustafa. Both with their political culture, original for an LDK activist, set a new standard of the race, not only for the LDK but for the entire Albanian political spectrum and beyond.
Today we are opening a new page of our political journey with clear goals and intentions to return The LDK in its original position. Over the past years, the LDK managed to cultivate its traditional projects. As in opposition and position as if at the central level and local level, in dealing with the population spirit, the LDK was the guardian of values in Atlantic integration, in orientation of the centre-right.
Over time, the LDK failed to retain its voters sufficiently.
The only real reason we find is in ourselves, and from there we must resume our grand return. Today and tomorrow, we honor each of the LDK contributors and every ordinary member. Today we honor our 100 thousand voters.
The LDK today also honours a deep sense of public service. Despite all the efforts today, there are disappointments who believe that our attitude has remained a hostage to outdated orientation.
The force that unifys the party, the force that corresponds to the voice of citizens and forces that the LDK stands with the right conviction.
I want to be clear that the LDK stands on time and that they are the foundations not only of our party organisation, but are ideas initiated by historic President Ibrahim Rugova. They're ideas cultivated by two preliminary heads, and ideas of the LDK.
These ideas make today and tomorrow and always represent our policy.
But because they are obedient, their beliefs survive the challenges of time. I have found obedience and trust in this political house, ideas cultivated with labor and sacrifice. I have found the founders of the state of Kosovo, the idealologists of the gravest times, the potential of the future.
This house has opened the doors to us, which will be opening up to many others who will follow, who will carry the torch of many decades to come.
That feeling, that belief made the LDK permanent. The numbers remain temporary.
Today we must act, unite around each other, open up to others. LDK doesn't have people to lose, but there are enough people to move on.
The LDK needs to be given a leadership that copes with the challenges of time. I feel duty, duty first of all, to lead this process forward. It's not easy because they find the country to slide into the populist spirit and to break down the state, so before all it's a patriotic duty for the protections and foundations of Kosovo, which are a common sense of our political organisation.
Our path ahead should be the right path that boasts of the past but remains its hostage. The Rugovian political philosophy, and the cultivating of state values that cultivate Kosovo's values.
The road ahead requires mobilizing the best people we have in the LDK, restoring LDK supporters, and bringing our people together who in time found no room in our political home. The road ahead of all constitutes reform, and I am convinced that the LDK will find this path that the LDK will remain both democratic and democratic ties of Kosovo.
Links to each other, democratic for open processes like this one today and other Kosovo processes.
God bless Kosovo, God bless LDK.
