Speaks the woman beaten by her husband's brother and was expelled

Krasniqi has said that mental and physical violence had been used by her husband's brother, who had also expelled her from home.

I was married, my husband had another wife. We have two sons, after a while my husband got sick. After that, my brother - in - law had been using psychic violence against me for five or six years. I could not leave home because I had no idea where I would end next. The brother-in-law had taken my house and with documentation only belonged to him”, she said in Klan Kosova.

After a while, he began to practice physical violence against me, last day he beat me twice and drove me away. I've seen him sometimes call the police, but they haven't written a report on my case. For four years I lived with my brothers, and then I tried to go to my home, but my husband's family sent me back”, she added.

She's been saying she's tried to get her old-fashioned house back to document sometimes, but she couldn't.

I tried to take the house I had, but I couldn't. I've only got the custody of my children. After four years, I took refuge at the Centre for Women in Gjakova, where they helped me a lot. Now, I have a flat in Pristina from the Albanian Women's Forum”.

Krasniqi has urged other women and girls to report the violence if they experience it.
