Peter Shala was arrested in Liezh, Belgium, on Tuesday. That was by order of the Specialised Prosecutor's Office, as the trial judge confirmed the indictment against him for war crimes.
Known as Commander “Ujku”, Shala had served in several places in the Dukagjin area during the war in the short run. After Dronovac and Glodjani, he was sent to serve in Dujaca in Gjakova in June-August 1998.
His fellow fighters in this village say he was strict, but that they do not remember any of his bad actions.
Through a Facebook account, Gheni Geci accused Peter Shala of trying to arrange an attack on him and Tahir Zemaj in 2002.
