Spanish Ambassador to Serbia: We reject Kosovo state

Spain's stance on Kosovo remains the same and has not changed. Spain does not accept Kosovo's independence, and this is state policy, Spanish Ambassador to Serbia Raul Bartholomew, writes “Novosti”. “
“
As “Novosti” writes, not only politicians but also some EU states increasingly invite the 5 EU nations (Spanja, Slovakia, Romania, Cyprus and Greece) to recognise Kosovo, which they have done so far.
That requirement is also made by the European Parliament.
Days earlier, Macedonian government deputy chairman Artan Grubi at the meeting with Vjosa Osmani has declared he will request from Spain recognition of Kosovo as an independent state.
The question of whether this will happen and what is the Spanish position for this Bartholomew initiative said there is no information on it.
The Spanish ambassador also commented on initiatives by other EU countries aimed at changing Spain's stance on Kosovo state.
According to our knowledge, no, no way Spain does not change its attitude regarding Kosovo, just because it requires one or any other state”, Bartholomew said.
