In the past two weeks in Slovenia, the number of infected and hospitalised patients has increased as a result of COVID-19, so the government is considering a new closure by early April, was confirmed today at a news conference of the Slovenian government.
In the last 24 hours in Slovenia, 1,164 new cases of coronary infection have been confirmed.
Health Minister Janez Poklukar said Slovenia had seriously changed “to” in the third wave of the coronary epidemic, largely due to the most transparent “spread of the British version of the virus, so the number of confirmed infections has increased by 25 cases per day in the last two weeks.
“There is an increase in the number of younger patients in intensive care units and the part of the British version of the virus among those infected is growing”, Poklukar warned.
He confirmed that at last night's session, the government made a decision under which entry to the country would be possible from Friday with only negative test. PCR, and not with a quick test, like so far, with very rare exceptions like people working throughout the country, provided they return within 10 hours.
A Negative Test The PCR will also be a condition for quarantine, not only the number of days as before.
Poklukar said that the government's expert group for COVIID-19, due to the spread of the virus and the strengthening of the epidemic, proposed “closing social life parts”, adding that the decision must be “political”.
Media reports that epidemiologists have proposed to the government a new two-week isolation.
Due to the deterioration of the epidemiological situation, the government proposed to President Borut Pahor to call a “political disaster” as soon as possible, a joint meeting of leaders of all political parties, government and epidemiologists in order to discuss and then make a decision.
