The news was confirmed by Bekim Kupina, media adviser to the President's task officer Vjosa Osmani.

“The commission founded by decision ad hoc for the top management level, with the decision of U.d. President Osmani, on January 20, 2021, in the disciplinary case against Mr. Driton Gashi, secretary at the office of the presidency, has concluded the review of this case and unanimously established the pronunciation of the disciplinary measure: leaving the civil service and forcing the President's office to implement this decision”, Cupina said.

In November 2020 it was reported that a person submitted as AKI inspector has attempted to obtain some files from the presidency's safe.

Presidency Secretary Driton Gashi had denied these charges, saying the safe had never been opened.

I've been witnessing this event with U.d. The president and the AKI officer. I'm witnessing the event compared to the others who are being declared in the studio that the safe is open. It's not the safe that has been opened”, Gashi has said in a telephone link to Klan Kosova.

However, Vjosa Osmani's adviser, Faton Peci, had said he had seen Gashi get his papers.

We've submitted the case to the police. Mr. Gashi has not had a mandate to invite AKI representatives to obtain documentation. The approach to the security safe should only be the president of the country. Except that I am. Gashi and an AKI agent found him in the office in other words, I caught him in a fight against the presidency institution, unfortunately the president's office secretary and an AKI inspector. I've asked them whose authorisation they're taking such an act and he told me I don't allow these documents to fall into the hands of EULEX”, Peci said.
