He resigned from AAK, Gashi tells whether he will again be in the race for the first of Obilic

Gashi has agreed that he will again compete for the first Obiliki citizen list.

“For our further journey, we've been well consulted with all the structures by the asambitists and other organised structures that we've been, and almost most of us have been independent at the moment. And we're working on creating a civic list that will have competition at the local level, and we're going to make sure that we continue to work for the community in Obiliq”, Gashi points out.

He also stresses that his resignation comes as a result of developments within the Alliance's structure in Obilic.

In addition, he says the resignation comes from failing to realise the central-level promises for the overall implementation of the Obilic Law, particularly in terms of the issue of employment of the citizens of Obilic.

The Obiliki has actually changed and many good jobs have been done thanks to the central level in progress for seven and a half years as I was. However, the reason has been the issue of employment at KEK. It has been one of the promises given in Hade and Shiptule, while then it has not been followed to the end and this has been the result of disgruntled much of the structure, which has then reflected even more resignations”, Gashi points out.

Asked if the other reason could be the loss of confidence in the AAK, Gashi shows a bit reserved.

However, he thanks Haradinaj for the continued support he has given him as prime minister.

As he adds that the essential requirements were not realized.

I didn't say that, thank the Haradinaj government and all the governments that were earlier and all the activists who contributed to my being there. But finally one of KEK's very necessary demands, even the citizens' demands, were not realized, he says.

Obilic's current chairman tells Kosovo Preress whether he will again be a candidate for the first Obilic in local elections to be held in autumn.

“This remains to be seen, because first the mechanisms will have to be created, the board of directors and the leadership, then we can see. If they ask me to do so, they'll probably compete”, Gashi says.

Finally, he has mentioned works that have been done in his rule in Obilic for about eight years.

We've done an extraordinary job, we've carried out many projects. We have built bridges, squares, we are also building schools and houses of culture, libraries and many other road infrastructure projects. In health as well, but above all, our commitment will be valued by the citizens themselves”, he says.

Gashi has won two mandates as Obilic chairman under the AAK umbrella since 2013.
