In a media communiqué, the party currently led by Lumir Abdixhiku say they are concerned about the proximity the Constitutional Speaker is showing to power.
“The Democratic Order of Kosovo (LDK) expresses concerns about the Constitutional Court's unprecedented proximity to the Government, respectively, says in response.
The Constitutional Court's independence has been the institution's outstanding value of democratic maturity, which for years has maintained its credibility. The authority of the Court is divided and independent of that of the Government and should always remain”, the announcement adds.
By Obadiah's party, they say that in any manner of congratulations and approach to the power of the president on behalf of the Court, it sets a precedent and proves that the Constitutional integrity as an institution is being violated.
Now any approach, of the Court Speaker, in the name of the Court, even as a blessing, an unusual and above all aggregator, testifies to violating the institution's credibility in question; at a time when impartiality is the essential value of democracy”, the statement says. /
