The chairman of this association, Ruzhdi Kurtisaj, said that the Association's Steering Council made a decision that the strike for not driving travel will continue tomorrow, while at 10:00 tomorrow, all transport operators will defil by bus in Pristina, in a sign of disappointment over the government's failure to implement the agreement to subsidise the economic losses that public transport operators have had in the pandemic.
“Greva will continue tomorrow, while tomorrow will change the form of strike, we will hold protests where (the bus owners) buses from all regions of Kosovo will defil in Pristina without preventing communication and preventing citizens, to protest against the government for failing to implement this” agreement, Kurtisaj said.
Kosova Prees has also secured the agreement reached between this association and the Government of Kosovo on January 28th of this year, which says the “pals have agreed that interranean transport is based on the miles held in the order of travel proven by the Ministry of Infrastructure”.
The head of the association said their demands are known for Government since last summer.
The government has our requests not now, but starting from July 28th, and immediately after our demands, we have trusted the government further, we have developed dialogue, we have been a government partner for measures that have been undertaken for protection from COVID-19, and to implement all government decisions that have emerged even for the travel road sector”, Kurtisaj said.
He has apologized to citizens for lack of public transportation these days, as he said, both for workers and health needs.
I think the government should think about this matter and the number is certainly large among citizens, who because of not meeting this agreement on the part of the Government, for today there is a lack of transportation to carry out their goals whether they are health or employment”, he said.
Kurtishaj also said there is unity from bus owners in all cities to continue with the strike and protest until the realisation of the agreement.
