An incident at the White House prompted a round of training to help him live like a first dog.
“Champ and Major are here at the White House”, White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters at a conference Wednesday, referring to the president's two German dogs.
Biden earlier this month said the mayor was still learning about life at the 18 hectares complex in the US capital, surrounded by aid and security officers.
After a reported incident involving a security staff member, Biden told ABC News that the mayor was simply defending himself.
He returned to the state of Biden in Delaware for training.
Psaki said on Wednesday 24 March that dogs joined the Biden family.
The “dogs will come and go and it won't be unusual for them to return to Delaware occasionally,” she added.
First Lady Jill Biden has said that training dogs for their new life at the White House has been a priority since they moved after the inauguration of Biden on January 20th.
It has also hinted that they can get a cat, Reuters reports.
