The Somali police said a three - wheeled cart, which back was loaded, was filled with explosive materials when it hit the popular restaurant “Louul Yemen” at dinnertime.
Witnesses and government media said that smoke came out of the explosion, and then there were gunshots as a building near the restaurant collapsed. Authorities fear that there may be people under the ruins. The explosion occurred when the restaurant was crowded.
The responsibility for this attack was assumed by the terrorist group “Al-Sabaab”, which is linked to the notorious group, “Al-Qaeda”. This long-standing group is practicing violence in an effort to overthrow the international community's recognised government, the Daily Mail writes.
Security official Mohammed Osman declared: “The blast was very severe and caused mass casualties and great destruction. The operation is continuing to determine the exact number of victims. ”
