He failed to re-elected the deputy chairman of the oldest party in the country.
Lutfi Haziri, Gazmend Muharzier, Anton Kuni, Albanian Medici, were chosen for that position, but not Agim Veliu as one of the LDK founders.
However, this is not his only important, lost position. Within a short period, he lost two more leadership positions at the local and central level.
Following the October 6th parliamentary elections of 2019, the Vetevendosje Movement emerged the first party, but did not secure enough votes to form Government alone, so after four months of talks, it coalitiond with the Democratic League of Kosovo, with which Veliu agreed to become minister of Internal Affairs.
The coalition was confirmed by the two party leaders through a joint press conference, and after four days, Agim Veliu resigned from the position of Podujevo Mayor [the LDK report for 20 years in a row] to become guardian of rule of law and public security throughout the territory of Kosovo.
However, this trip did not last long because it was dismissed after 44 days by then Prime Minister Albin Kurti, due to a statement he had given on Klan Kosova television, which according to Kurti was “against the Kosovo Republic of Kosovo's position on declaring a state of emergency”.
The Podujevo municipality, which was left with the leader's post, Nexmi Rudari, had to go to the polls to elect the new chairman. It was a surprise when it was learned that VV with a speed of Bulicqi candidate had won the election in this municipality.
From some connoisseurs of political developments in the country, this was described as the serious loss of Veliu, who had led this municipality since 2014.
“We have lost these elections, this is the sovereign decision and we will expect final results”, Veliu said.
Now with the appointment of the new LDK chairmanship, where he failed to re-elected the deputy chairman of this political subject, it is said that Veliu has lost three important leadership positions within the last five seasons.
About these developments, I Cuncosed. tv tried to contact her over the phone to get a promotion, but the same one didn't answer.
