Osama Rabie, chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA), said the ship had been partially freed and that was “good news”, the Wall Street Journal on March 29th.
Aids for its release would continue work to ensure that the ship could be moved back to the channel, he said.
“We are not finished yet, but it has moved”, Rabbi added.
Canal service company Leth Agentcie said rescue teams had partially deployed “to the ship.
But this company did not elaborate on when the ship could be fully freed.
A video posted on Facebook seems to indicate the rough movement of the container ship, creating space in the channel.
The video showed attractive ships moving around the ship, Ever Given.
Efforts to free the 400m-long mass ship loaded with thousands of containers intensified on March 28th.
The teams worked to remove sections of the canal shore and expand cleaning near the ship's arch at a depth of 18m, the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) said in a statement.
Egyptian authorities have said that if the operation to free the ship fails, some 18 thousand containers should be removed on the ship to reduce its weight.
