Parents' engagement has facilitated and regulated the situation at the “Fiik Konica” elementary school in the capital, where a series of projects without the help of the Pristina municipality have been implemented. Laptop equipment, toilet renovation, setting cameras in all parts of the school, building reading angles are among several investments that have benefited from the parents ' commitment to finding donors to improve the welfare of students.

Jehona Oruqi, director at “Faik Konica”, said there is a functional and constructive triangle in this school between teachers, parents and students. On the other hand, Oruqi said the Steering Council with parents' representatives has contributed to preparing all processes to start teaching with physical presence in school.

“Co-operation with parents in our school is very high-level, which means it works, the teaching-princing triangle works. During the pre-preparation period for the start of teaching in September, the Steering Council with parents and parents alike, has contributed to the preparation of all processes to begin teaching with physical presence in school. Intervention in school toilets, which have been renovated as a whole, has also been equipped with internet classes, as well as laptops that enable lessons according to scenario B in our school. It has also been interviewed into the camera system, which means that the different angles within the school have been supplied that are aimed at relaxing students and many other things that have helped the school to be a safer return for students as well as an attractive one. I am very grateful for these acts that co-operation at every moment when we requested have been ready and still continue to help in the school processes”, she said. Since according to educational regulation meetings with parents are binding twice a year, at the school “Faik Konica” they are most often held.

But we have the board of directors who are parents' representatives in this council, and we have the Parents' Council, the meetings are mandatory twice a year, but we as schools sometimes do meetings with our parents. Each time continued co-operation is needed throughout the time of pandemic has been present for what I am very grateful for”, Oruqi told Online Economy.

In addition, she says the Pristina municipality appreciates the co-operation the school staff have with their parents.“Our school completes learning according to two scenarios, for the lower cycle is scenario A, and for the upper cycle is scenario B. The challenge is not that we've encountered much, since our school, thanks to co-operation with parents, although we've had co-operation with the municipality and they're quite well informed that at the same time they're grateful for the co-operation of schools “Faik Konica” with parents, we can say that we are outstanding as a school for mobilizing all acts in order to complete the education process as best possible. Over the summer period, the School Steering Council and teachers have been working and planning how to start the education process in September in physical shape at school. The Pristina municipality has also helped and facilitate the process by supplying us with all the equipment for disinfectation, distance maintenance and other things that have helped the process” , When the Demiri Conica “was returned after 20 years to register his child for the first time in the school, he faced the same situation as when he was finishing low education. Demiri did not agree with the situation he found school. Now chairman of the School Steering Council says that in co-operation with parents and donors, nearly 50 projects have been implemented in regulating school conditions. I didn't agree with the situation I found school. In the past 20 years, I have felt that they have moved ahead, especially in view that education today is the main part of the lives of our children. Then I did not agree with it, and I did not wish to keep silent, nor did I agree with it. So I took my first steps to help school”

The first two years I helped with three separate projects, where school curtains have been placed in all classes, cameras and camera systems throughout the school, I've been trying to cover the weak points of school, and from October 15, 2019, I've taken the role as head of the School Steering Council, and from that day on we've made a detailed plan together with KDSH members, where there are four of the teachers, four of the parents we're there, and also from the Student Council of 911, he said.

After the introduction of the KDS plan, even though we don't have days that we're facing a very difficult year of pandemic, despite all that, but it's been a very great will, which I'm also proud today as head of the Steering Council and as part of this school that today changes are affected at the “Fic Conica” school. Nearly 40-50 projects have been implemented. Of all these four are under way for this year that due to the pandemic, confirmations have been postponed and that have remained as a process not to be done, but only as a process by the end of this year. But what's most important that we've touched every area of the school”, the chairman of the Steering Council said away.

On the other hand, Demiri shows that the projects have been implemented with help from donors provided by parents. This commitment was not made financially by parents, it didn't help parents financially to make these donations, that we never asked you for money, that it was done by the will of various donors who are out of school, businesses or companies”, he said. Other than that, it shows that during the time of pandemic, they were afraid they wouldn't be able to make the previous projects.

The “has been very difficult to convince, since on March 12th we just faced the pandemic and it was five months after I got the mandate as chairman and I'm scared, not in that sense that the projects don't have to happen, but I'm afraid they're going to be delayed for this year. Still, I'm saying an extraordinary will, an ordinary job has been done in the interest of all children, and 45 projects -- 11x1> have been realised, he said. “The projects I had singled out under the school are toilets, four toilets have become completely new. There are two angles of reading, it's the school entrance, it's the school commercial, it's the new logo, it's inside, it's inside, it's every decorated class, it's laptops, that maybe we're the only ones in Kosovo since September 1st, we've been on Plan A, B, C, when we've met the conditions of the Internet and laptops, and that's one of the main things, the camera part, we have the school radio active, that means all these activities that are done within this year. There's a uniform left this year, even though it's designed, but because of the pandemic we've pushed it”, Demiri said otherwise. On the other hand, math teacher Vjollca Zogaj showed how much help provided by their parents has been a relief aid to them. She says providing laptops to realize online learning was essential for her. “The help our parents have given us, especially at our school, are extremely pleased and truly is to thank a huge, extraordinary aid that has especially come into use for educators, parents, children and I believe it must continue”, Zogaj said.

I'd say that we should especially thank the chairman of the Parents' Council for providing laptops, and we have a lot of work to do, and we're taking class with half a class after we have half a class in school and half at home she's been very helpful to”, she said.
