Palmer: US expects quick resumption of Kosovo- Serbia

Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq spoke today through a video connection with the special envoy of the State Department for the Western Balkans, Matthew Palmer. Vuciq discussed a number of regional issues with Palmer, the overall situation over the COVID-19 pandemic, the measures for economic recovery, as well as the continuation of dialogue with Kosovo.

The two conversationators also discussed the overall regional situation and agreed that peace and stability in the Western Balkans are essential for the political and economic progress of the entire region.

The US official stressed that one of the priority interests of the United States is the stability and security of the Western Balkans.

Palmer stressed that the United States supports the process led by the European Union and expects a resumption of dialogue soon, stressing the importance of implementing the Brussels Agreement and reconfirming the United States' commitment to dialogue and talks on controversial issues.

While President Vuciq stressed that Serbia will continue to try to achieve a real and stable compromise with Kosovo, “preserving Serbia's state and national interests”.
