Ombudsman: The year 2021 will be a defence exam from discrimination

The ombudsman institution has held the discussion table on publishing two reports with recommendation.

Ombudsman Naim Qeyaj said 2021 would be a test for institutions for protection from discrimination.

He even added that they are not satisfied with the implementation of the Law on gender equality.

We're in an unusual situation. I want to stress that 2021 will be promotion for protection from discrimination”.

“This campaign will have a focus on protection from discrimination”.

Police director Samedin Mehmeti's task attorney said they are under obligation to work with the ombudsman.

He has added that he has appointed investigators dealing with domestic violence cases, reports EO.

The police, considering that domestic violence is the biggest violation of human rights, has set one of the top priorities. Police have the directorate, which covers a large part of the crime field”.

The police are committed to handling this issue and finding means through donors for this project to be realised in protecting domestic violence victims. Besides the other annual holidays for two days of work, Kosovo Police have arranged it. Children's mothers by the age of 3 have the right to an annual holiday for two days”.
