Idrizi said the idea of the post prompted the patriotic conscience, experience and commitment to implementing the Kosovo Constitution.
The “Ide to offer for the post of president has prompted me from my patriotic conscience, my own accumulated, and my own experience, as well as commitment to the implementation of the Constitution and the laws, a way that serves the civic community of the Republic of Kosovo. My many local friends were the ones who urged me to declare candidacy for this position. Our country needs a president in line with the Constitutional description”.
He also said his candidacy would be backed by at least 30 deputies.
My “Candidature will be supported by at least 30 signatures of necessary deputies, as the Constitution predicts. Initially my candidacy will accept signatures from all Albanian political or majority of them. My friends have contacts with MPs, I can tell you they're going to make sure that at least 30 signatures”.
Idriz sees himself as the favourite for the post, as according to him, in the situation Kosovo finds itself, a president is needed.
For the current circumstances Kosovo finds itself in, it is most important to have a president or a political at this moment. We even from past practice have had cases when if a person comes directly from politics, it is linked by the public's own perception that it is an inadequate position to carry out this mission, as the Constitution of Kosovo predicts.
Not to go to new elections, to elect the president within the constitutional deadlines, because there will be consequences for Kosovo. We're going into a new institutional crisis. Such a crisis would be dangerous“, he said at RTK.
