Natto says he has recorded an extremely large number of Russian military aircraft flights near its territory.
NATO's “Bundarders carried out 10 flights Monday, March 29, 2021, to track Russian bombers and fighters during an unusual peak of flights over the North Atlantic, the North Sea, the Black Sea and Baltic Sea”, NATO said in a statement.
NATO aircraft intercepted six different groups of Russian military aircraft near the Alliance's airspace in less than six hours”, she added.
”The Russian aircraft identified included supersonic Tupolev Tu-160 Blackjack and the long-range Tupolev Tu-95”, according to the alliance.
Pilots from Norway, Great Britain, Belgium, Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria and Italy carried out surveillance maneuvers.
Maintaining the integrity of the Alliance's members' airspace is a peacetime task contributing to NATO collective defence”, Alenaca added.
The statement stressed, however, that Russian military <x0avions often do not transmit a transpondance code that shows their position and altitude, do not present a flight plan or communicate with air traffic controllers, representing a potential threat to civil aircraft”.
