The chairman of the Albanian National Council in the Presevo Valley, Ragmi Mustafa, on the 29th anniversary of the Valley Albanian referendum on territorial political autonomy with the right to join Kosovo, said his countrymen need the same unification.
But to that end and to improve their positioning as minorities in Serbia, he has said Kosovo's institutional support is also needed.
The political status of Albanians in the Valley is still unresolved in this 29th annual. Moreover, when we take into account the depression imposed by the bodies of the Republic of Serbia are making life more difficult for Albanians in Presevo, Bujanoc and Medvedja. The model of co-operation and co-operation of political and intellectual forces is extremely fragmented. The 1992 model would be to embrace even further because internal unity is necessary to represent the Albanians in the Valley as best we can.
Mustafa in Info Magazine has said the Presevo Valley has consistently demanded that Kosovo be evolved more significantly and taken responsibility for the Valley.
Even today, Kosovo must lay the Valley issue on the table of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, respecting the aspirations of the Albanian referendum to find a solution. Peace between Kosovo and Serbia is conditional on the treatment of the Presevo Albanians”.
He has said that in the Western Balkans he will find peace until there are double standards of treatment of minorities.
Mustafa also added that they have not given up their demand that the Valley be on the table of dialogue, and that it does the same to the new government that will be established after the 14 February elections.
Serbia's “government has opened dialogue on the vital issues of Presevo, has shown the will to solve their political status as well as has consistently ignored the problems and challenges of Albanians in the Valley”.
Mustafa has said that even potential Prime Minister Albin Kurti has introduced the Valley's aspirations, but how these requirements will materialise, he added that this remains the strategy that Kurti will compile.
