Modernna is the first producer in the United States to test her vaccine in babies, reports the BBC.
The company plans to list about 6,760 children in the US and Canada for clinical trials.
Until the risk of children becoming seriously ill with the virus is smaller than in adults, there is still a risk of broadcasting especially among teenagers.
Modernna and Pfizer have begun testing their vaccine on children aged 12 and older last year, as results have not yet been shown.
AstraZeneca declared the first clinical trials in children last month. Johnson & Johnson has said he will test her vaccine in babies and children, but has not yet indicated a date when she will do so.
