Such an initiative was originally made by the branch of historians “Ali Hadri” in Decan. Marin Mema is a journalist who contributes to ethnic Albania

Chairman Haziri has thanked the Gnjilane assembly members unanimously voted for his initiative at Thursday's meeting.

“With the vote of the Community Assembly and in the presence of its excellence, Albania's ambassador to Kosovo, Kemal Minxhozi, in the presence of the deputy head of Bujanoc and the highest institutional and regional leaders of Gjilan, today I share the award on behalf of all citizens of Gjilan, in assessment of the work and engagement Marin Mema has given with his work, which is nationwide even beyond the administrative and political borders. Marin's name, now except for an investigative journalist, is the name of a patriot who exceeds the size of Kosovo and Albania's borders. He has strengthened our relationship and verified our presence and the distribution of our Albanian seed with beings, culture, presence and language. Gjilan is located at the Albanian majority's defence border checkpoint”, chairman Haziri has said.

He has further talked about the fate of Albanians in Bujanoc, Presevo and Medvedja their civil rights in Kosovo and political rights in Serbia.

“Jilani continues his contribution to the support of Albanians in eastern Kosovo, but also to the commitment to bring Gnjilan bright figures like Marin, who ranks among the prominent names for us, such as Becir Musliu, Bob Dole, President Ilir Meta and others”, he has said.

Albania's ambassador to Kosovo, Kemal Minxhozi, has said that Gjilan gave the award to the noble citizen “, the journalist who already belongs to all of us wherever we are in the Balkans, Europe and the world.

He has made our role in the past and our present. Marin is from every three Albanian and not that. His work has offered him among all of us, in our neighborhood, family, and town. Mr. Mayor. Haziri, the Communist Assembly, and citizens of Gjilan and more widely, have done something very great for Marin Mema”, Ambassador Minxhozi said, among other things.

While renowned Albanian journalist Marin Mema has said this award and organisation is a very special pleasure and moment for her.

Now we're witnessing more and more that we know how to get closer, but the future should offer us more. They must eradicate, not the boundaries between us, but the problems we have and that are things that have always kept us away. We leave resentments, divisions, and conflicts and find common ways to walk together in a street that belongs to us. Without the past, without patriotism and without the bright history we have, we cannot build, not the house, but I would call it Albania's castle. It is necessary that we understand the sacrifice that the great Albanians have made, until the sacrifice of the Kosovo war, we had great sacrifices driven by a major Kosovo Liberation Army war, and today we have a major battle of safe travel within Albanian lands with the spirit and wealth of our country”, Mema has said among other things.

Also speaking at this meeting has been the deputy chairman of Bujanovac, Shqirim Arifi, who has thanked Chairman Haziri for the assessment of his special and merit personalities, as well as the continued commitment the mayor of Gjilan has made to eastern Kosovo.

Otherwise, the Communist Assembly of Gjilan's assistants with absolute majority have voted on Thursday for the initiative of Chairman Haziri to declare Citizen Honor the renowned Albanian journalist Marin Mema.
