Former US Lady Michael Obama, in an interview for People magazine, has spoken about her fight with low-scale depression during the Individual-19 pandemic and the challenges of 2020, encouraging others to talk about their mental health.
Depression is understandable under these circumstances during these times. In a way, if you think about it, it seems unrealistic to believe that you can rebuild behind all these shocks and traumas without experiencing or feeling anything negative. This is one of the reasons why we need to talk about mental health because we all experience trauma, anxiety, difficulties in various ways”.
Pandemia Covid-19 and economic consequences, according to research, have brought crisis to people's mental health. A August study of Disease Control and Disease Prevention Centres showed that nearly 41% of respondents in America reported mental health problems stemming from the pandemic.
About 1 out of 3 Americans said that they had experienced symptoms of anxiety or depression.
Last summer, Obama found in her podcast that she was suffering from low-scale depression, during the peak of pandemic, racial problems in the US, and political problems.
For People magazine, Obama said that he should accept what he was going through, even though we often try to hide that part of himself. Obama also said it has been vaccinated against Ovidius-19.
I encourage everyone to take a vaccine as soon as possible”.
The former First Lady also said that the pandemic has allowed him and former President Barack Obama to develop a stronger relationship with their two daughters while in quarantine.
