Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel has congratulated Albin Kurti on the Kosovo Prime Minister's election.

She has done this through a letter, in which she points out how big she has to do with herself, like fighting crime and corruption, Klen Kosova.tv reports.

Merkel has also mentioned the process of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, for what it requires Kurti to be attentive.

This is the full letter:

Dear Prime Minister

I warmly wish you for your re-election as Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo!

You and your government are facing challenging work, for which your country can rely on Germany as a partner.

COVID-19's pandemic requires unprecedented action by all of us. With reforms and order and law, as well as the fight against corruption and organised crime, your government has identified important required reforms. Dialogue with Serbia on normalisation mediated by the European Union also requires your attention.

Success in these areas will be the key to concreteising your country's European perspective.

I wish you every success in the work ahead.

Respectfully

Angela Merkel
Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany”
