In Kosovo, opportunities to start online learning at all levels of education are being considered for the next two weeks. Kosovo's Centre for Education Executive Director Pupovci said there will be major losses due to lack of conditions.

Whenever learning online, we should remember that there will be losses because of the conditions under which online instruction is being organised in Kosovo, if the epidemiology situation requires that, then no one can say anything, and as far as I can understand now, schools will be closed for a week and then the possibility of compensation will be seen, but it could happen over the next period for outbreak causes of the epidemic and online instruction, and I think that this situation will affect the quality of education in the general <61> said Povci.

About keeping the test “PISA”, he said he does not expect improvement in the outcome, given the circumstances in which the curriculum was developed last year and this year.

“Yes I think Kosovo will participate as in the pilot test for P ISA also in 2022, but it's about what results our students will show. I believe that this pandemic period has seriously damaged them and there have been considerable learning losses, on the other hand, so far no serious measures have been taken to improve the quality of education, whether in the last year due to pandemic or earlier because governments haven't had such priorities, so I don't expect that there will be any improvement of the outcome, but there may be a deterioration in the circumstances that have been created by the pandemi”, he stressed further.

As for the winning party's governing programme on education, he said that the focus of this party has been more on the pre-school level, but that one of the priorities according to him that the future government should have is the quality in education.

“We have seen the electoral programme, which focuses more on the pre-school level than I can see, and I believe that now the government after the institution will make a four-year government programme where it will really affect those key education problems and one of the key problems is quality, and I think that during the next period of governance, quality should be the priority of the government”, he said.

As a possibility that Pupovci may be among the names proposed possible for education minister, he said there was no such offer and could not make speculations or suggestions that might have an offer.

“I don't have any offer of this nature, there have been no conversations even I have heard of such cases, but I think this will be resolved within the party structures where I don't belong, but I had no desire to speculate and suggest there would be such an offer, because such an offer has not been, certainly it has been resolved by Quadro within the” party, Pupovci concluded.
