March 29th Battle in Prekaz, witness Avdullah Kodra is commemorated

On the 22nd anniversary of the fall, the witness Avdullah Kodra was commemorated today. Fellow warriors, family members, and friends have placed flower wreaths near the Lapidari of the hero in the village of Prekaz and in the tomb of martyrs in Mary, where his body rests.

Those who two decades ago fought side by side today said that Avdullah Kodra, also young, was willing to give his life for Kosovo's freedom.

Avdullah Kodra had joined the Kosovo Liberation Army in January 1998 and was part of the 114 “Fehmi Ladrovci” Brigade.

At the age of 24, he heroicly fell in the battle of March 29th 1999 in Prekaz against Serbian forces, in which the commander of the company Avdyl Kodra and soldier Heidi Kodra, part of the 114 Brigade, remained seriously injured.

Today his body rests in the tomb of martyrs and heroes in the Navy of Drenica.

22 years after the fall, martyrs Avdullah Kodra, Gema Velii and Nuhi Geci have been commemorated today by associations derived from the war and the mayor of the Svilaj municipality, Bekim Jashar, who have been homazhe and have placed flowers near the tomb of martyrs in Mary.

On the anniversary of the heroic fall of the martyrs, Avdullah Kodra, Xheme Veliu and Nuhi Geci, along with the Associations derived from the war of the KLA, assemblies and family of martyrs we held homazhhe and placed flowers at their graves at the Memorial of Witnesses in Mary. In this case, I claimed that our martyrs fell so we could live free today, so we must be united to live their allegiances to a developed state and social well-being for all”, Jashar wrote.
