Chief State Prosecutor Alexander Lumezi has decided that the case of Agomis Tetaj will be taken from the current prosecutor and another prosecutor re-assigned.
The prosecution's announcement says that this decision has been made to avoid prejudices in the case.
Full announcement:
As the chief state prosecutor I am concerned and at the same time ready for justice to go to the country. So to prevent bias and avoid prejudice in the case of Agony Tetaj's murder, I have made a decision today that within my legal competencies take the course from the prosecutor of the case and reassign it to another prosecutor.
We will also ask the court not to announce the final trial, but to receive further necessary evidence, which will completely whitewash the truth in this criminal-juridical case, conform Article 357, paragraph 1 of the KPRK.
Likewise, after the assessment of the subject, all who have engaged in nonprofessional, and contrary to the law will respond to their actions.
It is therefore important for all and the general public to realize that the State Attorney makes no exception, no matter where he works or who he cooperates with.
During our work, we will be based on law and will serve only justice, handling exactly all the facts that are important for making the legal decision.
On the other hand, we ask all to use constructive language, not interfering with justice.
As chief state prosecutor, I assure my family and all citizens that I will commit myself to maximum justice in this case.
