Acting Minister of Education and Science Rame Likaj, on the 7 March occasion, has congratulated all teachers, saying good teachers are guides and inspirations on the road to individual growth and the key factor for social emancipation.
Likaj wrote on Facebook that this date reminds us of March 7th, 1887, when it opened in Korca, the first Albanian teacher in the direction of Pandeli Sotiri.
“Today, we cannot help but stress the contribution of educational workers who even under these extraordinary circumstances kept schools open and received priority education. It is those who contributed to keeping Albanian education alive over the years, and many did not even save their lives for the freedom of the country. Good teachers are guiding and inspiring on the road to individual promotion and key to social emancipation. The future begins and is sealed in school banks, so this day best goes to the immortal saying that the teacher's “and the weight of the sky never measures”, he wrote.
Teacher day is a holiday dedicated to educational staff of schools and universities.
This date has its early beginning, to remind of the first foundations of the Albanian school, in fact it has begun to remember, since 1960, when the Albanian state decided that this day would be a celebration of the founding of the first Albanian Teacher of Korca, which was founded on March 7, 1887.
