We don't have Kurt's interest in making Osman president, he wants to accommodate himself and his employees”

The Democratic Party of Kosovo will be included in the election of the president only if a consensual candidate of the entire political spectrum is offered. On the contrary, they expressed their willingness to go to new elections. PDK chairmanship member Betim Djoshi in an interview for KosovoPress says if the country goes to elections [...]

PDK chairmanship member Betim Djoshi in an interview for Kosovo Preress says that if the country goes to new elections, it is the exclusive responsibility of the Vetevendosje Movement. Until you reconfirm the position against Vjosa Osman to be elected president.

We will only make the contribution if we have a president who would represent the unity of citizens and political spectrum... Whenever the president's topic is in order of day, we will talk together as the opposition leader party with other opposition parties to see the possibility of a consensual person. That's why we're open to talking to those who won the election. If we can reach a person who can represent the unity of the people and the political spectrum, we will support”, he says.

Although he welcomes the new elections, Yoshi says they are not asking the PDK, but there is a tendency by Albin Kurti not to find a solution to the president's issue so the country can go back to the ballot boxes.

It's the winner's responsibility. The election winner has won citizens' votes to build institutions. They must be to show a behaviour towards other parties, which would bring them to vote on an acceptable candidate. If the country goes to elections, the responsibility is clear... until now we have not seen an interest of Albin Kurti to make Vjosa Osman president. Otherwise there would be another sequence of subjects. Initially, if he was interested in the first job, we would have the president's election, but he wants to accommodate himself and party aides under the future government. Then if it's possible to make the president good, if not then send the country to the elections, which we as opposition welcome, but we're not contributed to keep them... we're still ready, but we're not calling them, as if we didn't create the moment for past elections”, Joschi declares.

According to him, The PDK does not vote, as it called the partitioners of Kosovo society.

We will not have a vote for those who for years influenced our home and our society itself. In this case for the name of Vjosa Osman, which continues today with the same language as for Vucici to fight the state of Kosovo. There was no will in the Steering Council, but neither among the deputies who in no case, nor toʹum becomes quorum, nor vote Mrs. Osmani”, he says.

Regarding the PDK's reflection following the February 14th elections, Yoshi says the result has been unexpected, and at the party's Steering Council has been discussed to move ahead with needed party reforms.

No one in that board has ever felt good about the outcome. Everyone worked and committed themselves to a better outcome. The large-scale election outcome has been unexpected for us as a party, has been in disagreement with our behaviour as constructive opposition, but also with engagement in election campaigns. We made the campaign that was better than the other parties, but we didn't get the result we expected... there were voices that were a little bit more critical that demanded that it might be good to have reflections, or a vote of confidence. But there were isolated voices”, he says.

The Democratic Party of Kosovo in the 14 February elections has received only 17 per cent of the country's votes. Enver Hoxhaj's party will have 19 deputies in the Kosovo Assembly.
