Krasniqi: In this period of time, it is a privilege to be the chairman of the LDK, delayed reforms

One of the founders of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Milazim Krasniqi, has commented on the current situation in this party and the candidacy declared for chairman. Take Krasniqi with regard to the three candidates for chairman who have even been formalised, Lufti Haziri, AntonQuni of Lumir Abdijdjiku, the potential that everyone can give a new spirit to this party, without belonging to one candidate. According to him, it is not a privilege to take the lead in these conditions, so he says he appreciates the will of those who have run.

“Who will actually be chairman decides the Assembly of the Democratic League of Kosovo and not us, so we only have to wait for the will of the delegates of that Assembly. These three figures mentioned, each has its own specifications, I appreciate everyone running because the LDK is in a deep crisis and therefore it's not a great privilege to take its guidance in these conditions when it's in this very difficult situation, so I think I appreciate the will”. “Now all depends on their profiles are completely different, the word comes Anton Quinn could be a very useful figure for LDK at post-war beginnings in 2000-2001 when the LDK was accused of sabotaged war and such a figure would help reverse it. If the LDK aspires to maintain its traditional structure, in that case it suits Lutfi Haziri, who is a veteran of the LDK, a toasted Rugovist and a man who has an impact on the existing party structures, but if the LDK decides to aspire to seek a new electorate in the future may be the most appropriate figure Lumir Abdijxhiku, who is a young man and has more orientation around young people. So it all depends on what the wisdom of the LDK will be in this case to choose between these three really different options”, Krasniqi said.

As for the LDK reforms, Krasniqi said they are late, and that this party is continuing to reject the right path, which is deepening the crisis even more. He even says this is not the way to reform the party, EO reports.

“The LDK has been delayed in terms of reform entirely, I have since 2000 left this party desperate for the fact that there has been no will for reform, there has been a total equalisation, people who have looked at personal interests and power rather than the party's interest, and then after Rugova's death she's been very much involved with those conflicts in the Parliament, so now the LDK is in a very difficult situation”.

I believe this is not the way to reform the party. The right path would see elections at all levels of the party, and then applying a election principle to a member -- a vote that is a democratic principle, but they have chosen a short approach, a phased approach to the crisis, and this will not solve the problem of the LDK crisis” -- he said.

He believes in the maturity of the LDK and its members, and according to him, there should be awareness and no divisions within the party. I don't know this, and I wouldn't want it with the truth. I hope there is enough maturity in that party, I believe there is sufficient awareness that this is not the way to go further and therefore an internal operational unity and a political philosophy should be created, and if this becomes part of the political action I believe the LDK can overcome the crisis because there is a sensational history and an important mission to the statehood of Kosovo<1>, Krasniqi concluded. On Sunday, the LDK holds the election assembly, these elections held following the resignation of the party's leader, Isa Mustafa. The leader of this party resigned after the results in the February 14th elections, when the LDK came in third.
