“Kosovo's George Washington is being held unjustly in prison

The <x0-Atlantic association”, part of which are former Albanian-American soldiers of the KLA, on the 22nd anniversary of NATO's intervention in Kosovo, has sent a letter to US President Joe Biden.

Their letter to President Beden says that everyone in the Balkans still remembers it when he in 1993 had told Milosevic the prophetic words: “I think you are a bloody war criminal and you should be judged as one! ” But, Albanians stress that after launching three wars in Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia, Milosevic began another in Kosovo in 1998.

Former members of the KLA Battalion “of the Atlantic” also mention the boy Beau Biden, the American president who, along with thousands of American soldiers, joined in the great effort to restore Kosovo after the war.

“inspired by the bravery of our American soldiers and forced to carry out our duty to prevent genocide in Kosovo, several dozen Albanian-Americans joined The KLA fought side by side with NATO. On June 9, 1999, Milosevic eventually surrendered. Kosovo was already free that NATO troops and we marched to Pristina, the capital of Kosovo. Most of us returned to our homes in America, with several exceptions, including three US-born Bytyqi brothers who were captured by the post-war gendarmerie, were immediately executed and thrown into a mass grave in Petrovo Selo. To date, no one in Serbia has been convicted of this ugly crime against three Americans. There were thousands of American soldiers and other countries that joined in the great effort to restore Kosovo after the war. Even civilians from around the world took part in rebuilding destroyed Kosovo. One of them was your son, Beau Biden”, says in the Albanian American letter to the US president.

Furthermore, they express deep appreciation for the late son and the assistance of President Beden for the post-war justice system and for preparing local prosecutors and judges organised by O The SEU, stressing how honour for its contribution, Kosovo has given Beau Biden Auto's name to the road from Ferizaj to Gjilan, perpetuated his name and work.

“Since the 1999 liberation Kosovo has passed through three filters of international justice: UNMIK? The Hague Tribunal; and EULEX. None of them have been able to find or prove any serious crime on the part of Kosovo. Despite this, on December 14, 2010, Dick Marty, a Swiss politician and employee of the Council of Europe, compiled a report claiming that cruel treatment and murder of prisoners for the purpose of illegal organ trafficking had occurred in Kosovo. Despite numerous warnings that these claims were false, Mr. Marty made his public report and, without any grounds or evidence, under Russian pressure the Council of Europe approved the report. The people and the leadership of Kosovo were put on trial, devoured this bitter new tablet, and showed readiness to face justice once again. Kosovo changed its Constitution, and the Kosovo Assembly formalised the Specialised Chambers and the Specialised Prosecutor's Office. Even though the Specialised Chambers are the court of Kosovo, it was agreed that both those and the Specialised Prosecutor's Office will be carried out of Kosovo to The Hague. None of the judges, prosecutors and judges are citizens of Kosovo. Ethnic Albanians are not allowed to work for the tribunal, while Serbia's citizens can do this”, they are said to be next in their letter.

It also notes that despite the fact that aggressors in Kosovo were Serbia and Yugoslavia, which committed the most inhuman crimes in Europe from the Holocaust during L2B, the only defendants to have been arrested by the Specialised Chambers are citizens of Kosovo. Albanians-Americans reiterate in their letter that 1024 Albanian children were killed during the Kosovo war, and 109 are still found, 20, 000 Albanian women were violated, all those crimes committed by Serbian soldiers, policemen and paramilitaries, yet no Serb or member of other ethnicities has not been charged by the Special Court.

They stress this makes the Specialised Chambers monoethnic Court.

According to them, the Specialised Chambers have been made to issue the verdict on claims in the Marty Report, but neither they nor the Special Prosecutor's Office are fulfilling the positions that the Assembly of Kosovo has entrusted to.

“Z. President, you have called Kosovo President Hashim Thaci “George Washington of Kosovo.” Today Thaci is in a cell in The Hague along with four other Albanians who risked their lives fighting Yugoslav tyranny and Kosovo's occupation. Today it is impossible to imagine that someone would dare to accuse or imprison George Washington, why he fought for US freedom and independence. We naturally believe that all crimes should be cleared up and all victims, regardless of ethnicity, must find justice. However, it seems that the Specialised Chambers are not seeking justice, but history rewrites. Furthermore, there are indicators showing that some EU countries are using the Special Court to undermine the interests of Kosovo and the US”, President Joe Biden said in his letter.

In order to reduce this damage and ensure the independence of the court, they have sought the American president's attention to prevent political interference and to displace specialised Chambers from The Hague to Kosovo, because Kosovo is a sovereign country and would have to manage justice and the judicial system itself.

Their letter ends by quoting Luther King.

“Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. says very well: “Injustice somewhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” No one has demonstrated the work of justice more strongly than you, Mr. President. We're addressing you and the US to engage once again for justice in Kosovo and the Balkans.

Kosovo is a success story where the Albanian majority treats minorities, especially Serbs, better than any state in Europe. Kosovo is still facing challenges, but it is facing a better future. Kosovo is forever grateful to both you and America for help and support. Mr. President, thank you in advance while we put our hearts and hopes in you. May God bless you and the American people”, the letter of the association “Atlantic”.
